The company has extensive in-depth knowledge in the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrochemical plants and a strong track record of more than 600 projects with a total rating of over 10 gigawatts already successfully installed. Your responsibilities

We are looking for a Local IT Manager to build and lead our India‑based IT competence team. The team supports global ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) and engineering application services for thyssenkrupp nucera worldwide.

A key part of this role is facilitating smooth cooperation between the German headquarters and the India team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and strong cross‑cultural alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing local team of 15–20 IT specialists focused on ERP and engineering applications.
  • Establish a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Define role profiles, hiring needs, and professional development plans in alignment with global HR and IT governance.
  • Foster collaboration within the India team and across global teams, ensuring smooth task distribution and knowledge sharing.
  1. Service Delivery & Operations Management
  • Oversee delivery and operational stability of global ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) and engineering tools.
  • Ensure adherence to thyssenkrupp nucera’s global IT service standards, including security, compliance, and documentation requirements (aligned with global practices referenced in sustainability and service documentation).
  • Coordinate with global service teams to ensure SLAs, incident management processes, and change management workflows are met.
  • Monitor system performance, drive root-cause analysis, and manage escalations.
  1. Global Collaboration & Cultural Integration
  • Act as the primary bridge between the German HQ teams and the Indian competence center.
  • Facilitate alignment on expectations, deliverables, communication styles, and working methodologies.
  • Promote mutual understanding of cultural norms to reduce friction and foster long-term sustainable cooperation.
  • Represent India’s IT capabilities in global workshops, governance meetings, and improvement initiatives.
  1. Project & Portfolio Management
  • Lead local execution of global IT projects for ERP and engineering systems.
  • Manage resource allocation, timelines, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with global governance structures (e.g., Change Advisory Boards, Service Performance Reviews) as described in thyssenkrupp’s internal governance documentation.
  1. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Coordinate with internal business stakeholders in India and abroad to understand requirements and align priorities.
  • Manage external partners and vendors as needed for support, development, or project execution.
  • Ensure all documents, communications, and working materials meet global language standards (English), which is consistent with thyssenkrupp nucera’s operational expectations.
Your profile

 

The Local IT Manager India will play a crucial role in shaping the global digital backbone of the company, scaling the India competence center, and ensuring operational excellence worldwide.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT application management, including ERP and/or engineering tool environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary IT teams.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics ERP (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing modules preferred).
  • Experience with engineering applications (e.g., PLM, CAD/CAE toolchains, Teamcenter, or similar).
  • Solid grasp of IT service management frameworks (ITIL), change and incident processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based application environments (Microsoft Azure, SharePoint), consistent with nucera’s operations.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English; ability to communicate clearly with international teams.
  • High intercultural competence and sensitivity to German and Indian working cultures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to lead teams through organizational and technical change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a German or European corporate environment.
  • Background in global service delivery organizations.
  • Certifications in ITIL, Azure, Microsoft Dynamics, or project management (PMP/Prince2).
  • Experience in process documentation and audit readiness (aligned with India-related audit communications).
